White Paper V4.0: A European View on 5G Architecture and Beyond” DESCRIPTION:Virtual workshop Oct 2021:  Introduction to the 5G PPP Architecture \nThe workshop was organised in two parts:\nThe first part was organised as a webinar\, which was hosted by the 5G PPP\, to present the 5G PPP architecture white paper version 4.0. \nThe second part was a regular workshop included in the programme of the IEEE 5G World Forum conference. \nRationale\n3GPP standardization has been progressing at an astonishingly rapid phase\, where Release 15 and Release 16 have set the foundations of the 5G system\, while Release 17 provides enhancements and optimizations to enable support for further use cases. In parallel to 5G standardization efforts\, several initiatives worldwide endeavour to drive and support the evolution of smart networks and services. Among others Europe is establishing the Joint Undertaking on Smart Networks and Services in the frame of the Horizon Europe programme for research and innovation. Other initiatives are complementing the European initiative\, such as Secure 5G & Beyond Act in the U.S.\, roadmap towards 6G in Japan\, MSIT 6G programme in S. Korea\, and MIIT 6G programme in China. \nThe workshop will provide an opportunity for reflection and discussion about requirements and architectural considerations for future generations of mobile systems. The focus will be on presenting version 4.0 of the Architecture white paper developed by the 5G PPP architecture working group. It will allow to move from 5G and beyond towards a fully-fledged 6G architecture. \nPresentations\nWednesday 13 October 2021\, 15:00-18:15 CEST – Hosted by the 5G-PPP \nPART 1:  5G PPP Architecture White Paper version 4.0 Highlights\n\n\n\nPRESENTATION\nSPEAKER(S)\n\n\nWelcome\nÖmer Bulakci\, Nokia\, Arch WG Vice-chairman\n\n\nKeynote Video – On the path toward 6G System: Forming the Foundation\nMikko Uusitalo Nokia Bell Labs\, Hexa-X Project Manager\n\n\nKeynote Video – Bringing Reinforcement learning Into Radio Light Network for Massive Connections\n Yue Zhang\, Univ. of Leicester\,  6G BRAINS\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChapter 1 – Overall introduction to the white paper\nMarco Gramaglia\, UC3M\n\n\nChapter 2 – Overall Architecture\nAnastasius Gavras\, Eurescom GmbH\n\n\nChapter 3 – Radio & Edge Architecture\nMir Ghoraishi\, Gigasys Solutions\n\n\nChapter 4 – Core & Transport Architecture\nJesus Gutierrez Teran\, IHP\n\n\nChapter 5 – Automated Management & Orchestration Architecture\nXi Li\, NEC laboratories Europe\n\n\nChapter 6 – Cross-Domain Aspects\nValerio Frascolla\, Intel\n\n\nChapter 7 – Architecture Instantiations & Validations\nHaeyoung Lee\, Univ. of Surrey\n\n\n\n  \nPART 2:   IEEE 5G WF  WS#2: \n“Architectural Evolution toward 6G Networks: A European View” Technical Papers: 14 October 22:30-00:30 CEST\nLink to the workshop part of the Programme of the IEEE 5G World Forum  \n\n  \n  \n  URL:https://5g-ppp.eu/event/16811/ LOCATION:Online Event\, WEBINAR END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
