SUMMARY:A 6G VISION Webinar – What will 6G offer to vertical industries & Future perspectives
DESCRIPTION:The 5G/6G Vertical Users Workshops aim at establishing a collaborative event for strategic dialogue between vertical industries (automotive Industrial automation\, health\, media industry\, security\, public safety\, energy)\, SDOs and 3GPP\, with a view to exchange requirements\, outline issues and obstacles impeding progress\, and look at upcoming future standards development. \nThese requirements are considered to be essential to unlock the potential of 5G/6G technologies\, with the objective to enhance vertical industries. \nThe April 20 workshop gathered more than 250 attendees on “What will offer 6G to vertical industries?” After a presentation from Alexandros Kaloxylos on the global 5G/6G research picture\, the speakers dug into 6G high-profile themes\, by tackling long-term challenges and priorities that can be summarized as follows: \n\nWhat may be the economic\, societal\, environmental and technological impact of 6G concept.\nHow business is going to evolve and keep up while moving from 5G to 6G.\n6G business case(s) for 6G and/or Use Case(s) and what are the key drivers. \nWhat advantages will 6G have over 5G and how quickly do we need it\, and at what cost.\nWhat 5G-related shortcomings 6G is expected to fix (or try to).\nThe Voice of EU (and International) R&I for next generation networks and services.\n\nPresentations are available for download (click on the speaker’s name) \nAlexandros Kaloxylos – 6G-IA Executive Director \nRahim Tafazolli – Regius Professor & Director of Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) and 5GIC (5G Innovation Centre) at University of Surrey \nArtur Hecker – Chair of 6G-IA Vision and Societal Challenges WG \nHåkon Lønsethagen – Co-chair of 6G-IA Vision and Societal Challenges WG \nDavid Boswarthick – Director of New Technologies at ETSI \nMuslim Elkotob – Principal Solutions Architect at Vodafone \n  \n The workshop was recorded.
