DESCRIPTION:The CHARISMA project is organizing the “5G strengthening business and social development: barriers and drivers” workshop on September 4th\, 2016. The workshop is co-located with IEEE PIMRC 2016 (Personal Indoor Mobile Radio Communications) in Valencia\, Spain. \nTopics of interest include\, but are not limited to\, the following:\n-Security\, reliability and privacy in 5G network\n-Management and Orchestration of NFV and SDN elements for security\n-Secure design of NFV and SDN solution\n-Intrusion detection and mitigation for emerging network\n-Regulatory aspects\n-New business challenges and opportunities related to 5G\n-Socio economic drivers \nThe workshop also hopes to bring together other 5G projects as well as other interested parties which have a common interest in the development and progression of the identified topics.The CHARISMA project will showcase its work and discuss business and regulatory issues of 5G networking. The workshop has been endorsed by the IEEE 5G Mobile Wireless Internet Emerging Technologies Subcommittee (IEEE 5G TsC). \nAuthors are invited to submit their papers. The online platform is open to submit papers here. \nImportant dates\nPaper submission deadline: 29 April 2016\nNotification: 10 June 2016\nFinal Paper submission deadline: 1 July 2016 \nAbout CHARISMA\nCHARISMA proposes an intelligent hierarchical routing and paravirtualised architecture that unites two important concepts: devolved offload with shortest path nearest to end-users and an end-to-end security service chain via virtualized open access physical layer security (PLS). The CHARISMA architecture meets the goals of low-latency (<1ms) and security required for future converged wireless/wireline advanced 5G networking. This provides a cloud infrastructure platform with increased spectral and energy efficiency and enhanced performance targeting the identified needs for 1000-fold increased mobile data volume\, 10-100 times higher data rates\, 10-100 times more connected devices and 5x reduced latency. The CHARISMA approach will benefit user experiences with ground-breaking low-latency services\, high-bandwidth\, and mobile cloud resilient network security. \nAbout PIMRC\nPIMRC is one of the premier conferences in the wireless research arena and has a long history of bringing together academia\, industry and regulatory bodies. Today\, it has become one of IEEE Communication Society’s flagship conferences in telecommunications.
