Brussels, February 23rd, 2018 – The 5G Infrastructure Association (5G-IA) and 5G PPP will have a big presence at the Mobile World Congress 2018, taking place 26.02 – 1.03 in Barcelona. The combined 5G-IA / 5G PPP booth can be found at Hall 7, Stand 7K17.
In addition to the recently published European 5G Annual Journal 2017, with the results of 5G PPP Projects Phase 1, they will be presenting the latest Pan-European 5G Trials Roadmap, the key 5G PPP architecture design recommendations, and the 5G PPP Automotive White Paper A study on 5G V2X Deployment.
“After our successful joint press and conference event last year with the European Commission at MWC17 – 5G Action Plan: From Research to Trials – we chose this year to give priority to welcoming partners, members and visitors at our booth, as well as to presenting 5G PPP cutting-edge demos and Phase 2 Projects, and delivering key messages and presentations on the 5G PPP Ecosystem developments.”
Jean-Pierre Bienaimé, 5G-IA Secretary General & 5G PPP Steering Board Chair.
“The broad portfolio of presentations, demonstrations and events organised by the 5G IA and 5G PPP at MWC18 reflects the success and impact of 5G research in Europe. At this critical time as the first 5G standards become available and the 5G PPP programme moves from fundamental research to proof of concepts and trials, it is a perfect time to reflect on past success and future plans.”
Colin Willcock, 5G-IA Board chairman
A key highlight will be the presentation of selected 5G-PPP projects which will be showcased in the event’s prestigious Congress Square (stand CS40), thanks to the close collaboration between 5G-IA, 5G PPP and Mobile World Capital Barcelona. These will include a demo from 5GCAR and videos from 5G-MoNArch and 5G-XHaul.
There will also be a special session dedicated to the 5G PPP initiative taking place on Wednesday, Feb 28, from 11:00. The program includes:
