• MATILDA will showcase the use of Vertical Application Orchestrator (VAO), OSS and OSM/NFV capabilities supported by the MATILDA framework to build and run two distinctive industrial vertical applications, from Media (5GPACE) and Public Safety (5G PPDR) domains.
• SliceNet booth: The SliceNet demonstrations at the booth will showcase the Machine Learning (ML)-enabled cognitive network slicing management capabilities in the following vertical use cases:
  • Smart Grid (Predictive fault management) – The Smart Grid demo features ML model creation through TensorFlow framework and using a Dense Neural Network (DNN) algorithm, ML model deployment, and ML model execution for RAN slice failure prediction in an execution environment.
  • Smart City (noisy neighbour) -The Smart City demo integrates work from SliceNet and MATILDA projects to show inter-slice resources conflict mitigation, by onboarding an application in the Marketplace, deploying 2 slices and providing an ML model that monitors slice-level metrics, predicts service-level degradation, and locates its source.
  • eHealth – The eHealth demo shows eMBB slice composition and onboarding and how MEC with hardware acceleration can assist in collection, processing and streaming of patient data to speed up diagnosing stroke through an ML-based MEC App.
• 5G-MoNArch: The booth presents a live experience of the Turin Touristic City testbed that implements 5G network slicing and resource elasticity to support an interactive virtual museum visit as an example for 5G multimedia & entertainment use cases. Furthermore the conceptual project results are provided with posters and presentations and a remote access to the second project testbed, the Hamburg Smart Sea Port.
• 5G-Transformer and 5G-Coral joint booth: 6 different demos will be shown: Automotive, Entertainment, MNO/MVNO, Cloud/Edge robotics, Automation and Federation
• 5GTANGO: 3 live demos on communication suite, immersive media and smart manufacturing
• 5G ESSENCE – 5G Small Cells for Multitenancy and Edge Services – Booth:  The project “addresses” the paradigms of Edge Cloud computing and Small Cell-as-a-Service (SCaaS) by fuelling the drivers and removing the barriers in the fast growing Small Cell (SC). It provides a highly flexible and scalable platform, able to support new business models and revenue streams by creating a “neutral host” market and reducing operational costs.
  Three demonstrations showcase the system design, concepts and visions:
  • 5G Edge network broadcasting services for a stadium: In a stadium environment, by leveraging the benefits of SC virtualisation and radio resource abstraction, as well as by optimising network embedded cloud, it becomes possible to “ease” the coverage and capacity pressure on the multimedia infrastructure, and also to increase security since content will remain locally.
  • Enhanced Video Services at the Edge DC: This demo will show the i-EVS (Enhanced Video Services) application leveraging the Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) platform hosted in the 5G ESSENCE Edge DC (Data Centre), which provides a virtualized layer and allows the high processing of content at the network edge. It offers video transcoding capability as well as Context-Aware and Location-Aware mechanisms, enabling Service Providers to launch new value-added services.
  • Real Time Transcoding and Video Content Delivery at the Edge DC: This demo targets the next generation of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) services. We use a low-weight adaptation of our platform to multicast efficiently over Wi-Fi, slice the RAN and transcode and stream on-board live recorded videos to passengers Personal Devices over mobile networks. We target realistic in-flight scenarios and provide possible solutions, namely video transcoding of live recorded videos on-board, efficient multicast and RAN slicing
• IoRL will present a portable demonstrator in exhibition booth EP1002
• The SaT5G booth will show live OTA satellite demos of multicasting and multi-linking (parallel satellite and terrestrial links). The multicast demo is jointly prepared with 5G-Xcast. There will also be another stand alone demo of multi-linking using an emulated satellite link. In addition there will be videos shown of demos of (a) NR MAC and PHY over satellite, and (b) delivery of content to an aircraft as an example of a high speed platform. These demos show that the project is being successful in integrating satellite links to a 5G network.

  • New 5G-PHOS network architecture, that creates an Analog Radio-over-Fiber Point-to-Multipoint Fiber Wireless fronthaul architecture, the first of its kind!
  • Converged Fiber Wireless fronthaul links using A-RoF transport schemes, mmWave directional beams and cost-effective optical transceivers achieving record capacity benchmarks.
• blueSPACE & 5G-PHOS joint booth and demo: The projects blueSPACE and 5G-PHOS join forces for a joint demonstration of analog radio-over-fiber fronthaul and 60GHz mm-wave 5G NR transmission.  LioniX International, a partner in both blueSPACE and 5G-PHOS, will also have an SME standing booth
• 5G-PICTURE will have a booth entitled “Programmable Transport technologies for disaggregated RAN approaches”.

• NGPaaS booth: We showcase the capability of NGPaaS to efficiently provision in only a few minutes resilient 5G end-to-end network connectivity in a public safety scenario (life demo), integrating the Dev-for-Operations developed by the project enabling the upgrade of 5G-Core functions to another version delivered by the vendor (demo).
• 5G-VINNI will have a joint booth with 5GINFIRE, demonstrating 5G experimentation and innovation environments for vertical applications with practical deployments and offerings of state-of-the-art experimentation tools. 5G-VINNI will showcase:
  • 5G-VINNI testing framework consisting of a cloud-based test automation environment providing a unique solutions and experience to the customers, such as testing operators, network engineers, or vertical developers through a Testing as a Service offering. The demonstration showcases the automation capabilities for NFVI and 5G network testing in the 5G-VINNI project
  • End-to-end service orchestration capabilities of 5G-VINNI that are being deployed and will be used to configure network slices across several main facility sites of 5G-VINNI.
  • Customer service centre for future customers that consider using the 5G-VINNI infrastructures as well as access and use opportunities
• 5GCity: The goal of the 5GCity demonstrations at EuCNC2019 is to showcase how easy is to transform city infrastructures in 5G Neutral Hosts and how powerful and flexible the 5G service design and lifecycle management is with 5GCity platform. The project partners plan to show 4 demos at the booth:
  • 5GCity SDK + Neutral Host Platform: This demo has two parts: 1) it demonstrates how 5GCity SDK facilitates creation, packaging & on-boarding of network services; 2) it shows how the 5GCity neutral host platform enables an ICT infrastructure owner to slice and lease its infrastructure to 3rd parties (e.g. MVNO).
  • Video Acquisition & Production: This demo includes acquisition of live high-quality multiple videos from the event and streaming through 5GCity platform. Such services also can support the engagement of public in the media production for big events.
  • Augmented Reality service: This demo offers immersive experiences with distribution of UHD contents for city services. The demo leverages on 5G orchestration to offer immersive experience to end-user (e.g., tourists) who can see a reconstruction of antique city buildings and towers in real-time with enriched context information superimposed via holographic models.
  • Mobile Backpack Transmission: This demo highlights how high bandwidth connection over a dedicated network slice can enhance live TV transmissions from a mobile backpack. In this case, we use acquisition, processing, and streaming/broadcasting of multiple live HD videos from a professional mobile TV camera which moves in the outdoor demo area of the conference site for typical journalist activities. The camera is connected to a TV production and streaming service station installed in the 5GCity booth.
• 5G-DRIVE will provide in its booth the following interactive offerings to visitors:
  • An animated video that tells the story of 5G-DRIVE
  • A video demo on V2X activities ongoing at the trial site in Espoo (Finland)
  • Posters summarising highlights and most interesting results from its public Deliverables on 1) eMBB development and test plan; and 2) V2X development and test plan
  • Video demo from University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) on eMBB
    • Full 3D holograms in real-time (see and touch the holograms from all angles that mix into the real world via augmented reality (AR) glasses)
    • 4K 360-degree live streaming service powered by the multi-access edge computing technology: 4K-quality live streaming without experiencing buffering, hence creating a seamless “out-of-body experience” via virtual reality (VR) goggles – seeing themselves from up above
  • Video demo from VTT on V2X: shows the Espoo V2X trial site environment dedicated for the intersection and Green Light Optimized Speed Advisory (GLOSA) trials. Automated “Marilyn” car is driving is connected to the traffic light with low latency ITS G5 and cellular LTE connectivity. Marilyn driving commands are adapted according to actual traffic light status. The scenario is extended to share and process the data partly remotely and partly in vehicle side in future.
• 5GENESIS and EuWireless (shared booth). A 5GENESIS experimenter portal with slicing capabilities demo will be shown. Leaflets will be also available.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

A series of activities will be organized by 5GCity in the Outdoors Exhibition Area. Our colleagues from Betevé (the Barcelona media TV Company, partner of 5GCity) will document outdoor events with live TV transmission on top of the 5GCity platform deployed in Valencia: camera operators equipped with a 5GCity video backpack will transmit live via 5GCity network to editors at the 5GCity booth for production and subsequent streaming on the Internet.

Through this 5GCity-powered outdoor broadcasting events we will demonstrate also the high portability of our 5GCity Neutral Host solution along with showcasing one key media use case for 5G in the cities.
