5GEx, a H2020 5G-PPP phase 1 project, is pleased to announce its second 5GEx Industrial Workshop. The workshop is part of the 6th Annual Network Virtualization Europe conference (May 22-24, Madrid) organized by KNect365 TMT, an Informa business. Informa is a leading international business intelligence, academic publishing, knowledge and events group. . The conference focuses on bridging between NFV operators, function developers and suppliers of the emerging NFV infrastructures. The workshop is held as a session about MANO on the first conference day, directly following the opening and keynote speakers. Details on the conference and agenda can be found here.
The workshop focuses on the current and future perspectives of MANO, the management and orchestration functional layer for the NFV-enabled telecommunication infrastructure. A prominent focus will be on the interworking of NFV-enabled service providers in the forthcoming 5G networking landscape, both from a business and technical viewpoint. Håkon Lønsethagen (Telenor) will present the latest analysis and results on business aspects like community models, community creation and operation, quality of service definitions and quality-enabled services. Carlos J. Bernardos (University Carlos III of Madrid) will present roaming in an NFV-enabled multi-operator context, focusing on technical aspects and latest MANO reference implementations in various open source frameworks, including the results of the 5GEx project. Finally, Diego Lopez (Telefonica) will lead a 5GEx organized panel, which will conclude the session and discuss the state, missing pieces and next steps for MANO including the multi-domain 5GExchange vision.
Beside the workshop, 5GEx will be present with demonstrations, whitepapers and personal presence to foster the exchange of vision and results with all the interested conference participants. The 5GEx team will be there to discuss the 5GEx vision as well as share ideas to transform the 5GEx concept into concrete innovation and growth.
