5G-ENSURE organises 1st workshop on 5G Security Standardisation, 16 June 2016

5G-ENSURE organises its 1st International Workshop on 5G Security Standardisation on 16 June in Sophia-Antipolis (France) in conjunction with the ETSI Security week (13-17 June).

This one-day workshop discusses and shares technical insights into the security of 5G emerging from preliminary findings from 5G-ENSURE. The workshop will present the results of an initial public consultation on 5G security, offering an opportunity to exchange European perspectives on security work within 5G-ENSURE. Discussions will chart a course for coordinated work on 5G security with the involvement of 5G PPP projects, standards groups and international initiatives. As a result, it will foster the drive towards the future 5G-connected digital society based on a secure-by-design approach, where security is an integral component of the architecture design.

An impressive line-up of speakers and panelists includes:

–Adrian Belmonte, ENISA  and Jovan Golic, TIM IT & EIT Digital, Keynotes in session 2
-And for session 3: Dr Zarrar Yousaf, NEC Laboratories Europe, Alf Zugenmaier, Munich University of Applied Sciences & Vice-Chairman 3GPP SA3, Luca Pesando, TIM, Davide Pratone, chairman ETSI Project Smart Card Platform (TC SCP) Requirements Working Group (TC SCP REQ), TIM, Hugo Tullberg, Ericsson, chair of the 5G PPP Work Group Pre-standardisation.

The workshop takes place at Orange labs in Sophia Antipolis. Amphitheatre in conjunction with the ETSI Security Week. It runs from 10:00 to 16:30. Registration is open from 9:00 to 10:00 with a welcome coffee. Networking coffee breaks and a lunch are offered as part of the workshop.  There is no charge for attending the workshop but registration is required.

Now in its second year, the ETSI security week consists of an IoT Security Workshop running from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 June 2016 followed by the ETSI Technical Committee CYBER plenary meeting taking place from 15 to 17 June 2016 and the hosted AIOTI Workshop on 16 June.
