It aims at showcasing the results of the consecutive programmes on R&D and projects co-financed by European programmes, as well as presenting the latest developments in this area. The conference will have regular oral and poster sessions, and well as panels, tutorials, workshops, keynotes, and demos.

  • Fantastic-5G, Flex5Gware and Speed-5G will jointly organise the “2nd 5G PPP Workshop on 5G Physical Layer Design and Hardware Aspects Below and Above 6 GHz”.
  • SONATA will participate in a workshop organised under the umbrella of the Software Network Working Group of the 5G PPP. There will be a SME booth with 8 SMEs. Euro-5G will present phase 2 projects.
  • Cognet and SELFNET are organising the 2nd Network Management, Quality of Service and Security for 5G Networks, where the work of the 5G PPP Working Group on Network Management, Quality of Service and Security will be presented (more info on the workshop site).
  • CHARISMA, SESAME, COHERENT, VirtuWind, 5G-NORMA, 5GEx, SPEED-5G,SELFNET and mmMAGIC projects are co-organising the “Workshop on Business Models and techno-economic analysis for 5G networks” on June 12th.
  • 5G-CROSSHAUL and 5G-XHAUL are co-organising (with iCIRRUS) a Workshop on “New XHaul solutions for the 5G transport challenge” on June 12th. The Software Network Working Group (SONATA, 5GEx, 5G-CROSSHAULSUPERFLUIDITY, CHARISMA, SESAME, SELFNET, VIRTUWIND, COHERENT) is organising a Workshop on “Software Networks and 5G: from network programmability to SDN/NFV combination for effective network slicing” on June 12th.
  • SESAME, COHERENT, 5G-XHAUL and CHARISMA are preparing a Special Session on ”Development of a Cloud-enabled “Small Cell as a Service” concept, for Multi-Tenancy and Edge Services in the 5G Framework.”
  • FLEX5GWare and mmMAGIC, with 5G-Champion, 5G-MiEdge are working on a Workshop on “Prototyping the 5th Generation Cellular Wireless Technology”.
  • mmMAGIC is organising a Workshop on “Millimetre-wave technology for 5G access, fronthaul and backhaul”.
  • 5G-ENSURE organises a workshop on 5G Security on June 12th with the Security WG.
  • Euro-5G will present phase 2 projects.

  • PHY – Physical Layer and Fundamentals
  • RAT – Radio Access Technologies towards 5G
  • WON – Wireless and Optical Networks
  • NET – Networking
  • APS – Applications & Services
  • TER – Testbeds & Experimental Research

Key dates for papers

  • February 24, 2017 – Workshop proposals submission deadline
  • March 17, 2017 – Notification of acceptance
  • April 21, 2017 – Workshop papers submission
  • April 21, 2017 – Authors registration deadline

Workshops

Call for workshops: Submission deadline: February 24, 2017. Proposals for Workshops are invited in all Tracks (a full list of topics is available here):

  • PHY – Physical Layer and Fundamentals
  • RAT – Radio Access Technologies towards 5G
  • WON – Wireless and Optical Networks
  • NET – Networking
  • APS – Applications & Services
  • TER – Testbeds & Experimental Research

Workshops may address one or more Tracks, but they should be organised under a unified theme.  Workshops are intended to allow projects or any other group of authors to present their own work. Workshops may include invited speakers, papers, and panels.  The structure of workshops is not fixed, and proposers may design it as they think best.  Proposers are responsible for defining the full contents of the Workshop, namely the authors and presenters.  It is not expected that open calls for papers are launched for Workshops, in order to attract authors or presenters. Workshop papers can be either Presentations, Extended Abstracts (2 pages) or Full Papers (5 pages), and should be reviewed by the Workshop Technical Programme Committee. These papers will be part of the Conference Proceedings (if the authors wish to do so), but they will not be submitted to IEEE Xplore.

Key dates for workshops

  • February 24, 2017 – Workshop proposals submission deadline
  • March 17, 2017 – Notification of acceptance
  • April 21, 2017 – Workshop papers submission
  • April 21, 2017 – Authors registration deadline

Special sessions

Call for special sessions: Submission deadline: February 24, 2017. Proposals for Special Sessions are invited in all Tracks (a full list of topics is available here):
