“Automotive Trials for Make-Before-Break 5G Edge Cloud Handover” webinar organised by 5G PPP Automotive Group

Toyota, Vodafone and Ericsson jointly conducted Edge Computing trials at the Aldenhoven Testing Center in 2020. Goal was to get more insight on two research questions: Do file download- / upload-based applications, like for example HD Mapping, benefit from Edge Computing and what advantage will Make-Before-Break gateway switching (aka Session and Service Continuity (SSC) mode 3), provided by 5G Core, bring? The presentation and hopefully fruitful discussions around it will provide these insights. Experience shared should also help ongoing and future projects to setup and execute 5G Edge Computing trials, even if only 4G or non-standalone 5G networks are available for that.
