CNIT (National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications, www.cnit.it), a consortium of 37 Italian public universities, is organizing 5G Italy (https://www.5gitaly.eu/en/home2/), an event in Rome (4, 5 and 6 December) where politics, regulatory authorities, research, businesses, economy and public administrations meet, addressing the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming 5G network. It will be a three-day conference, focusing on Policy and Research and dealing with relevant vertical applications: Media and Tourism, Energy, Industry 4.0, eHealth, Transports, Mobility and Automotive, Public Administration, Defence and Security. Also, an update will be given on the 5G trials currently on going in Italy.
Representatives from the European Commission and 5G IA / 5G PPP will be among the speakers (https://www.5gitaly.eu/en/agenda-2/).
In the framework of 5G Italy, CNIT is also editing a white book (https://www.5gitaly.eu/white-book/), with the aim of documenting the Italian 5G ecosystem, presenting the work done up to now by significant research and industry players, including field trials, the most interesting applications and vertical exploitations and, last but not least, reporting on regulatory and market/business issues.
CNIT is also organizing an international PhD School (https://www.5gitaly.eu/phd-school/) on 5G issues, co-located with the main event, and giving to the students of the school the opportunity to attend selected talks of the main event.
Distinguished representatives of the EC and of the 5G IA will participate to the conference and contribute to the white book.
