EuCNC 2016 (European Conference on Networks and Communications) is the 25th edition of a successful series of technical/scientific conferences, open to the world research community, sponsored also by the European Commission, with a focus that ranges from the physical layer to all types of supported applications. Particular focus in this edition will be on 5G technologies.
The 2016 edition will be co-organized by the University of Piraeus and the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS).
EuCNC will be exceptional and a cornerstone event for showing the status of research in advanced networks and associated topics, with multiple exciting special sessions, workshops, exhibitions/demonstrations, as well as an outstanding social program. Eleven workshops (WS) and the same number of special sessions (SPS) will be organised.
Experts from 5G PPP projects are closely involved (METIS-II in SPS6, FANTASTIC-5G in SPS4, mmMAGIC in SPS8, 5G NORMA in WS1, METIS-II in WS 2a, mmMAGIC, FANTASTIC-5G in WS 3, CHARISMA in WS1 and WS6b…). Details on SPS can be found here.
Four major keynote speakers will be there:
Edward G. Tiedemann, Jr. (Senior Vice-President, Engineering Qualcomm Technologies, USA) for “the dawn of 5G II: Vision, Technology and Progress”
Chih-Lin I (Chief Scientist on Wireless Technologies, China Mobile Research Institute, China) for the “Mid-Point of 5G journey”
