New 5G Architecture WG white paper
Revised version of 5G PPP Architecture Working Group view on 5G Architecture
The 5G PPP Architecture Working Group published its revised view on 5G Architecture at the end of December 2017. The first version was released after one year research mainly from 16 projects. The revised version highlights the key 5G architecture design recommendations from 5G PPP Phase 1 and provides a baseline architecture for Phases 2 and 3.
The 5G Architecture Working Group as part of the 5G PPP Initiative is looking at capturing novel trends and key technological enablers for the realization of the 5G architecture. It also targets at presenting in a harmonized way the architectural concepts developed in various projects and initiatives (not limited to 5G PPP projects only) so as to provide a consolidated view on the technical directions for the architecture design in the 5G era. The first version of the white paper was released in July 2016, which captured novel trends and key technological enablers for the realization of the 5G architecture vision along with harmonized architectural concepts from 5GPPP Phase 1 projects and initiatives. Capitalizing on the architectural vision and framework set by the first version of the white paper, this Version 2.0 of the white paper presents the latest findings and analyses with a particular focus on the concept evaluations, and accordingly it presents the consolidated overall architecture design.
SELFNET will present in this workshop its network management framework, which provides three major benefits for 5G networks:
The SELFNET framework helps operators build a resilient network infrastructure for 5G, which makes the most effective use of the network technologies they already have.
The SELFNET framework enables service providers to significantly reduce the time for service creation, depending on the conditions down to about 10 minutes. The SELFNET framework can help network operators significantly reduce the total cost of ownership for their network infrastructures.
