Name of Proposal: | QoE monitoring and enforcement for the incoming 5G services (QoE45G)
Proposer: | Selex-ES (http://www.selex-es.com/it)
Strand Addressed: | Strand 3 – Network Management | Pre-structuring Model Topic | P12 |
Scope of Proposal: | The project will design and implement an overall closed-loop, full cognitive, context-aware, dynamic, technology-independent, overlying system, approach for monitoring, assuring and improving QoS and QoE in the context of future 5G network and service infrastructures. In order to reach the above-mentioned ambitious goal, the project will deal with the following subsystems:1) Monitoring Subsystem in charge of collection, exploiting the SDN approach, of the technology dependent measurements taken at all 5G control, service and network layers, as well as of the end-user direct/indirect feedbacks and automatic stimulated 5G network behaviour (active probing);2) Context Engine Subsystem in charge of the abstraction of the data collected by the Monitoring Subsystem, as well as of inter-layer/inter-network data aggregation and semantic enrichment, eventually feeding a Context Big Data repository;3) Data Analytics & Reporting Subsystem in charge of performing analysis of the Context Big Data, in order to provide QoE User Profiling, as well as other valuable dynamic feedback parameters;4) QoE Evaluator Subsystem in charge of evaluate, according to ad hoc metrics, and on the basis of Data Analytics Subsystem outputs, of the personalized QoE perceived by the users for a large variety of OTT services, as well as of the personalized QoE expected by the users for these services.5) QoE Control Subsystem in charge of computing dynamic Resource Management decisions aiming at reducing the difference between perceived and expected QoE, while maximizing available network resources. The above-mentioned decisions are related to the management of QoS resources, SPD resources, Mobility resources, Contents/Services resources, Processing/Storage resources on the cloud.6) QoE Enforcement Subsystem in charge of putting in place on the underlying networks, through NFV interfaces and exploiting the SDN approach, the Resource Management decisions taken by the QoE Control. This task will be performed by properly adapting dynamic Service Level Agreements, and/or by properly driving QoS/SPD/Mobility control procedures, and/or by properly steering Cloud control procedures. The project will map the above-mentioned subsystems on a field trial scenario.
The project will make the most on the results of the FP7 Future Internet initiative, as for example the adoption of Generic Enablers approach. |
