5G PPP Press Event @ MWC

The European Commission and the 5G Infrastructure Association, on behalf of the 5G PPP,  have launched the 5G PPP  5G Vision at Mobile World Congress 2015.

Initial 5G technologies coming from EU collaborative research projects are demonstrated at the 5G Booth in Hall 8 – B017.

Regarding the new research project s under the 5G PPP program,  the first call for proposals has been evaluated and 5G PPP projects are expected to start as the first phase of a coherent research program by June 2015. These Projects will drive the development of future communications and act as the hub for consensus building and the preparation of future global standards.

During the event Günther H. Oettinger, European Commissioner, Digital Economy & Society, and the executives of the global top technology companies discussed the goals, market expectations and further developments of 5G.
