According to SDG-committed UNWTO statement, (tourism) “sustainability principles refer to the environmental, economic, and sociocultural aspects of tourism development”; and regarding that first dimension, sustainable tourism “should make optimal use of environmental resources that constitute a key element in tourism development”. Tourism industry is accountable for a significant percentage of some European Member States' GDP. Hence, the opportunity exists for pushing into such industry innovative solutions aiming at improving the way we manage environmental resources, e.g. optimizing the number of tourists visiting especially sensitive natural spaces. Objective of Proposal Idea:
The proposal consits in the design and prototype of User Equipment that includes 5G modem in addition to 4G and will be integrated into a board that also includes standard Ethernet RJ45 ports. This UE is targeted for industrial environments and will provide dual connectivity through 4G and 5G using mPCI cards connected to the main board.

While aquaculture and IoT have exponentially grown in the world in the last years, the combination of both domains still remains at its early stage. Although water monitoring is at the center of the aquaculture activity, its complexity can often push fish farmers to neglect it. We believe that developing user-friendly 5G-IoT solutions for fish farming will lead to a new era of connected, responsible and efficient aquaculture. Objective of Proposal Idea:
I am researching the remote monitoring and data analysis of horses and horse racing that I believe will improve the athleticism and performance of a Race Horse in competition. The idea works by embedding sensors in the bridle of a horse that monitor the head movement and breathing. Data is sent wirelessly from the bridle to the saddle which contains more sensors that measure physiological and cardiovascular parameters when the horse is running.
