Brussels, 15 October 2025
At the International Bharat6G Conference 2025 on 10 October in New Delhi, held alongside the India Mobile Congress, leading international research alliances announced a unified commitment to shaping the future of 6G as a shared global endeavour.
Bharat 6G, 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA), ATIS’ Next G Alliance, XGMF, 6G Forum, 6G Brazil, UKI-FNI, UK TIN, UK Federated Telecoms Hubs (CHEDDAR, HASC, JOINER and TITAN), and 6G Flagship came together to endorse the “New Delhi Declaration” on 6G principles by design (available at: https://6g-ia.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/joint-statement-clean-endorsing-principles-for-6g-secure-open-resilient-inclusive-and-sustainable-by-design_6g-ia.pdf).
The joint statement outlines a collective vision for 6G to be secure, open, resilient, inclusive, affordable, and sustainable – a global public good that strengthens connectivity, fosters innovation, and supports digital inclusion across all nations.
The nine principles outlined in the declaration address the following crucial and strategic priorities:
“By anchoring 6G in security, openness, resilience, inclusivity, affordability, sustainability, and trust, we commit to shaping a network fabric that uplifts societies, accelerates digital economies, and ensures no one is left behind”, the partners declared.
Together, these alliances reaffirm their commitment to align research, development, standardization, and deployment toward realizing 6G that is trusted, inclusive, and sustainable by design. Furthermore, they call on all research alliances, industries, research institutions, and civil society stakeholders to join in advancing these shared principles.
This joint commitment marks a milestone in international collaboration – a global step toward making 6G a universal, trustworthy, and inclusive intelligent network.
“To enable 6G to be the right solution for the world’s problems, it cannot be defined by any single country or region. Collaboration must be at the core of 6G. As such, this joint statement reaffirming a shared commitment to shape the future of 6G as a global standard is vital”, stated Dr. Colin Willcock, Chairman of the Governing Board of the 6G-IA.
