The Institute for Industrial Management FIR is a research institution at RWTH Aachen University concerned with business organization and corporate IT. Our aim is to research on relevant topics to establish the industrial company of the future. We focus on the topics around digital technologies and software, which make it possible to run a digitally integrated and agile company. Our strengths lie in the development of application-oriented technology concepts, digital business models and the optimization of logistics, production and service processes. Through the close cooperation with industrial companies (e.g. e.GO and Street Scooter) in research projects and the good infrastructure at the institute (production factory with 5G antenna) we develop relevant use cases and applications.
For now, we are looking for projects focusing on mobility and 5G, in which we have broad expertise. We have profound knowledge of idea development, use case design and implementation in factory environments. We focus on applied research We also have a few ideas on the use of 5G technologies to reduce traffic in cities using 5G technologies.
