Martel’s team has been involved in the 5G PPP initiative since its inception. Martel is full member of the 5GIA, NetWorld 2020 ETP and engaged in the 5G SME WG.
Technical expertise: Martel Lab is specialized in cloud native architectures, from cloud computing infrastructures based on Open Source solutions such as OpenStack and Kubernetes, to cloud computing as an enabler in the development of highly available, scalable and resilient services for 5G, Big Data, Media, IoT, Virtual Network Functions, Smart Cities.
Martel is the main partner of Orchestra Cities (https://www.orchestracities.com) a cloud based platform to deliver a shared space through which cities can collaborate and to enable citizens co-creation through Open Data and Open APIs. The platform incorporates IoT management solutions and support a wide range of IoT protocols and standards. Different PoC have been running covering Antwerp, Helsinki and Wolfsburg.
Marketing and communication expertise: Martel Media is specialised in dissemination, communication and community building of research and innovation projects. Martel leads the 5G PPP online and offline media active communication activities, being responsible to amplify dissemination and impact of ongoing 5G PPP projects, managing 5G PPP social media, contributing to organise and run 5G PPP events, supporting the 5GIA media presence with news production. Martel is also leading communication & marketing activities within the NGI context.
Martel is member of other initiatives that guarantee consolidated connections in a large perspective, including FIWARE Foundation, BDVA, AIOTI, IoT Forum, and NEM.
